Woman Seeks Government Grant For Friedreichs Ataxia Disabled Sister

by Sharon
(New York, USA)

My sister was diagnosed many years ago with Friedreich's ataxia. She is progressively getting worse.

Her husband works full time and tries to take care of her the rest of the time. Things are falling apart around them.

The house is in total disarray and while he is at work, she sits on the couch, unable to go to the bathroom or move around the house. Where he puts her, she stays until he comes home.

They lost their 30-year-old son about a week ago and I am concerned that there is no one there to help her or support her during the day.

They have no home health aide or any other support system to assist her. I am looking for any ideas or agency, which could provide support for her.
