US Army Veteran Seeking One Time Financial Assistance To Start Over

by Gerard
(Springhill, Florida, USA)

My name is Gerard. I'm 44 years old, married and have 2 adult children currently with us.

I've got 25 years with the army, of which 13+ years were active duty. I'm currently in the Florida Inactive Guard.

I have no disabilities, but I do have financial problems.

We lost our home and moved in with our oldest son and daughter-in-law.

Although I get unemployment, it runs out soon. Anyway the money is spent before I get it.

I'm working with local veteran services on job-hunting, and my wife, son and daughter looking for work through the local job center.

I have received a HUD/VASH Voucher. All I need is a one-time grant to help with bills and transportation.

I have a small truck that is really hard to start. It needs a starter and transmission work (gears slipping).

My son has small car damaged by the rear going through the rust in the rear. It makes for a loud and dangerous ride, but we have to be out looking for jobs and side jobs to get through.

My car insurance ran out. If I don't get it back by June 8 2011, I will have my license suspended.

I would like to purchase some of the empty homes in my area, renovate them and use them solely for the HUD/VASH program.

I just want to catch up and not worry so much.
