Unable To Work Disabled Single Parent Seeks Government Housing Grant

by Darrelle Levy
(Tampa, FL, USA)

I have been dealing with a lot of issues over the last five years. I have been moving from place to place and cannot afford a reasonable place and safe environment for my family.

I am disabled and am not allowed to work any more. I am staying with my mother and my five kids and one grandchild, in a four-bedroom house.

We do not have reliable transportation and it's hard getting the kids to and from to school.

I get government assists but it's not enough to pay the bills in the house where I am living.

I do not have the money for groceries or clothes for my kids. I am looking around for people that are giving away clothes or anything. I am willing to accept anything that is handed to me.

My family means so much to me and I try my best to take care of them, with the little help that I have from the government.

I have two kids that are in school and it is really hard for me to try to get them to school.

I have been forced to get out of a house that I was paying the rent for because the owner didn't tell me it was going up for foreclosure.

I have been looking for a place to stay that is safe for my family but it is hard when I do not have the money I need to survive.

So if you can understand my situation I would really appreciate it.

Fraud gets in the way...
by: Anonymous

It's not that easy out there. There are waiting lists for the housing programs and the shelters and transitional housing are the same. They need either more funding or people to actually do their job. Unfortunately there has been so much fraud out there that the real people who need help gets left behind.

Here's a housing suggestion...
by: Anonymous

You need to contact HUD, and also Habitat for Humanity. They will help you with an affordable roof for you and your children, something you can afford.

If you do not mind me asking, are you divorced due to the disability, in other words has the father deserted you? If so go after him for every cent he owes you. The state will help you.

What goes around comes around. The chickens always come home to roost. Good luck! God bless!
