Tourette Disabled 70 Year Old Man Seeks Grant For Social Business Idea
by James L. Culler
(Lake Arrowhead, CA, USA)
I'm seeking a mental disability grant for a business for my wife and me. It would allow us to live and work together and help other people with disabilities.
Alternatively, if government business grants are not available, I would be interested in a mental handicapped loan to expand a business.
I can't fund a business because I have Tourette syndrome. It's a disability that doesn't allow me to function in society.
I would like to get grant money to help me pay for my business expansion since I can't work or be around people in public or private.
I applied to 99 federal agencies through grant.gov grant applications. They don't give grants to individuals.
There are scams telling people they can learn to apply for grant with a CD costing only $1.95. But then they get charged up to $99 a month on their credit card.
Here are some things that distinguish me as a grant seeker…
1. I'm a senior citizen relating to helping older people.
2. I have 20 years experience of marketing the needs of individuals in life.
3. I have 30 years of teaching experience.
4. I like setting goals and objectives and seeing them through.
5. I have compiled and edited a "Manifesto of Life" that has over 1000 affirmations of getting what you want in life, all documented by Bible verses.
I created the "Manifesto of Life" to serve a large and growing population through a partnership between city, state, national and several service organizations, both public and private.
We are seeking a grant to use in our comprehensive approach of reaching out to the individuals who are experiencing hardship of economical times to help them receive what they want in life, life skills, and social enrichment.
We also propose to create a single entry point to all the various services available to these individuals through a series of partnerships with publishers and public relations agency to promote the Manifesto.
The lead PR agency for this effort intends to place a promotional referendum before the public for long-term training workshops of the 29 lessons within the Manifesto.
We are requesting financial assistance to enable us to establish training programs that promote the benefits of success, supported by using affirmations documented by Bible verses.
Here, are examples of replies to my grant applications…
(1) Your application and proposal have been reviewed and has been determined not to meet the requirements of this Grant opportunity. We were seeking a cooperative agreement with a local entity which would work closely with the BLM to provide maintenance of existing campsites, trail improvement, kiosk repair, eradication of non-native invasive species, and other restoration activities along the Molalla Corridor, allowing the targeted participants in Clackamas County, Oregon, a mix of work experience, natural resource education, citizenship values and skills in service to their community, not for a comprehensive approach of reaching out to individuals who are experiencing hardship during these economical times. The funds are intended for support of community crews working in the natural resource environment rather than in workshops and seminars do not qualify you for grant. Again, thank you for your interest.
(2) The grant opportunity was for a single source entity. It has very specific qualifications on who can apply for the grant, one of them being for salmon and Steelhead facilities located in the Snake River basin to compensate for the lower Snake River fish losses in the state of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. The grant opportunity also listed the facilities that could receive the funds. Your organization did not qualify.
(3) We appreciate the effort you have put forward in your application but regret to inform you that you do not meet the minimum requirements; specially a state agency, territorial government, or tribal organization community. We wish you the best in your search for funding and invite to apply for future opportunities.
(4) Thank you for your recent submission of the project entitled "Manifesto of Life" to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Mountain-Prairie region Migratory Bird Management Program. Unfortunately we are not able to fund your project at this time because your project does not fit within our current highest regional and/or national priorities.
The above examples are incomplete letters to myself and the personal signatures and names were left out for protection. If you need to see the full letters of rejection, the letters are on file for review for documentation. James L. Culler.
