Spinal Cord Herniation Disabled Woman Seeks Grant And Medical Help

by Tammy
(Delaware, USA)

Hi! My name is Tammy. I'm 45 years old and disabled by a spinal cord herniation.

I've been married for almost 20 years. My husband and I do not have any children, but hope to someday adopt.

The spinal cord herniation diagnosis came about March 2011 after a migraine headache that landed me in the hospital.

The doctors were in fear that I was having a stroke. With lots of MRIs and a chance finding I was finally diagnosed with a rare spinal cord herniation.

I have daily headaches with dizziness. I also have right-sided weakness. According to the doctor I need surgery to repair the defect.

If left untreated my symptoms will only get worse. For more information, search for "spinal cord herniation" in the Search Engines.

Since being out of work for six months it has been hard to pay our bills with only my husband's pay.

As of today I have not received any disability pay.

My insurance runs out the end of September and I don't know how we will afford everything.

We are behind in our mortgage and utilities.

My husband drives an old truck that uses so much gasoline.

I have a hard time doing some of the simplest of task because of the dizziness.

I will not drive until I have the surgery. I am afraid that I will either cause an accident or get a ticket for driving under the influence because of the dizziness and headaches.

Right now we are barely surviving on my husband's salary. We have sold most everything we own.

We had a couple of vehicles that were no longer running and my husband was able to find a buyer or take to the scrap yard to get some money to pay bills.

My husband has also started scrapping. He has helped people clean up so that he can have the metals to take to the scrap yard.

I have looked for jobs on the Internet, but there are so many scams it's hard to tell the legit sites from the bad ones.

I'm looking for grants to help pay the bills until I have surgery and am back to work.

I may also be in need of medical assistance if I do not have the surgery before my insurance runs out.

I have looked at some grant sites, but they seem very confusing.
