Sister Seeks Grant Or Other Money To Help Brother Pay Heat Water And Electricity

by Deborah williams
(Muncie, Indiana, USA)

Yesterday, my sister went to visit my 55-year-old brother in Argos, Indiana. When she got to his house she found out that he has no food, water, electric or heat.

I called the utility company in Argos today and they told me that they shut all his utilities off in August. He owes $2,500.

I have called agencies all day to see if they could give him assistance and was told that they could not because he already had been shut off.

They told me that even if he didn't get shut off, they couldn't help him with much.

I have always watched my brother help others and it hurts me to see him living like this. If he doesn't get help soon, I don't think he will make it through the winter.

My brother has worked most of his life, never asking for help and I am pleading for someone to help him with grant money or any kind of help really.
