Single Mother Of Disabled Eight Year Old Seeks Grant Money For Wheelchair Van
by Lisa Bunker

We wake up, brush our teeth, take a bath, get dressed, do chest physical therapy, take medications, do repositioning, play and do anything to make my child happy.
Daniel, my son is eight years old and is very limited in what he can do. He is more limited without a wheelchair van.
He smiles, laughs and is just a sweet child that has been through a lot including 15 head surgeries.
A wheelchair van would enrich his life so much but we can't afford a wheelchair van on our income.
Daniel has dandy-walker syndrome, hydrocephalus, epilepsy, blindness, impaired hearing, scoliosis, and chronic asthma.
He also cannot control his temperature. If it's hot outside, he will run a fever and vice-versa with the cold.
The house is his prison unless I can get him proper and safe transportation. He loves to go places, feel the wind when traveling and just to get out.
Please help us give my child whatever happiness can be brought to him. Like I said, a grant for a wheelchair van would enrich his life so much.
We don't want the world, just a van with a lift, strap downs for a wheelchair, dependable, halfway decent looking and with air conditioning for Daniels health.
Thank you for taking the time to read a short version of our life. Believe me, it's a whole lot more. Lisa.
