Once Self Employed Now HIV Disabled Single Mother Seeks Debt Relief

by Ann
(USA)

I am a single mother of teenagers. I was diagnosed with HIV and other complications in November 2008.

This occurred from a negative Pap smear, finding out that I have two cysts on my ovaries and fibroids in October 2008.

I have had two blood transfusions and have been in and out of hospital from October 2008 until January 2009. I have lost everything except my children and my sanity.

All 11 of my credit cards are in default. I have lost my truck to repo. I can't even provide a Christmas this year for my kids.

I used to be a strong self-employed mother. I'm licensed in doing hair. Due to my illness I cannot work. I'm on Social Security Disability.

I'm getting $965 a month, most of which goes to the light and water bills, barely leaving enough for personal hygiene and rarely cleaning products.

Right now, anything would help. My lights are about to get cut off, due to the money I just made in 2009.

The landlord told me to move because she was selling the house. I owed her so much rent, due to me not working for the time period in and out the hospital.

So the check I receive from SSD goes to pay a portion of the deposit, with a monthly payment plan for the balance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
