Mother Seeking Government Disability Grant For Son With Sarcoidosis

by Darla
(Sidney, OH, USA)

My son has Sarcoidosis and is very sick. We are going to the doctor at the children's hospital for testing all the time.

It's a parent's worst nightmare to see your son so sick. We just found out that it has gone to his kidneys, so now we're seeing another doctor at the children's hospital.

I was laid off from work, like most of us. I'm having a hard time paying for all his needs. We do have medical for him, but there's so much that he needs and so many things we would like to do for him.

He can't work with his sickness. He is 17.

I just need some help with the needs he has, like special food and clean air in the house. With being laid off, this is hard for us to take care of all his needs.

Some government disability assistance or other help would be so appreciated.

My son has sarcoidosis also. He has had this illness for 9 years since he was 10. I'm having the same problem. How can they say he is not disabled with this illness? I'm looking foe help in Dallas Texas.

I have similar concerns with treatment plans and research. I suggest that you contact the Center of Excellence in Cleveland Ohio or www.stopsarcoidosis.org. I read publications which are very informative. I spoke with a few smart people and healthcare professionals. I will take that trip one day...soon!
