Rhonda And Children Seeking A Better Life
Some mobility handicap vans and accessible home grant money would change our lives. I'm a 38-year-old female with two children, a boy 7 and a girl 17. I'm a college graduate with a bachelor's degree in Social Work and an Associate of Applied Science. I've been diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.
I'm hoping that whoever reads this will understand that I'm having a very difficult time. I'm confined to a wheelchair and I have a very hard time doing anything on my own.
I need help bathing and putting on my clothes. Almost any activity that everyone else can do, I can't do on my own. I don't want to ask my children or my mom for any more assistance than they're already giving.
My house wasn't built for a handicapped person, I can't get in and out of bed on my own easily, let alone try to bathe. I'm looking for a grant to make my house accessible so I can provide as normal of a life as possible for myself and my children.
I have a 1994 van that the MS society fitted with hand controls and a wheelchair lift, but I can't use it because the doors won't open, the air doesn't work and all the tires go flat. I also cannot get from the driver's seat to my wheelchair in the back without help when the van is working.
Please look at my story and consider helping me so I can continue being here in a better way for my boy and my girl. I want to be someone they can enjoy and look forward to coming home to and even be able to take them places.
My children and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us in any way possible in our quest for some mobility handicap vans and accessible home grant money to change our lives.
