Ivy Seeks Government Housing Grant For Her Stroke-Disabled Uncle

by Ivy Gisclair
(Belle Chasse, LA, USA)

My Name is Ivy Gisclair and I'm writing this on behalf of my Uncle Edward Roy Vinet.

He suffered a major stroke and is paralyzed on the left side of his body.

He does get a check every month but it's not enough to pay rent and live off.

He was recently living with his girl friend who passed away and her mother got the house.

He is staying with us at the moment, but we're trying to find out if he can get a grant to get his own stable house.

Please help if you can. It would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Call the Disability Office of HUD
by: Anonymous

Dear Ivy,

More than likely he is or could be a veteran? Even if he is not, call up HUD. Sometimes they can place them in a group home that will administer his meals, etc. They do take the check; however, they feed them, care for them help them bathe, etc.

Also call the Council on Aging in your state to see if they have an apartment program if he does not go for the group home idea.

The National Council on Aging can be reached at http://www.ncoa.org/

God Bless! GOOD LUCK!!!
