Hopeless Disabled Single Mother Seeks Government Housing Grant Money

by Martha Paige Hall
(Charles City, VA, USA)

I almost lost my life four years ago when I had gastro-bypass surgery but with strong will and the grace of God I made it.

I lost 130 lb but it left me with lots of medical problems. The worst is migraine headache, which cause me to pass out and I end up in hospital or at the doctor where I get injection in the back of the head.

I am also bipolar and OCD. Let's just say I stay sick a lot. I have a son who is the joy of my life. He is ADHD, Bipolar, and MR.

He has temper tantrums a lot on a daily bases. He is a big boy hard to control sometimes on my own. I do the best can.

I was married to a very abusive man and had to get out for my son and me. We have been through it and back.

It seems we can never get a break. Can anyone help?

Housing Help in Virginia
by: Katina

Congratulations on making the effort to submit your story to Accessible.org.

With the publication of your story, you are now well on your way to:

1. Getting your story known to a wide audience that could help you.

2. Getting your story polished up and presentable so you can submit it elsewhere, including the White House.

As a disabled person myself, I can sympathize with your situation and I definitely understand your need for help.

I've done a bit of research and found these resources for you:

HUD Housing in Virginia
http://portal.hud.gov/portal/page/portal/HUD/topics/hud_homes

DISABILITIES NETWORK
http://www.dnnyc.net/

NRCSHHM
National Resource Center on
Supportive Housing and Home Modification
http://www.usc.edu/dept/gero/nrcshhm/directory/

Please let us know if the resources have helped you in any way.
