Home Help Grant And Legal Aid For Hospital Staph Infection Disabled Woman

(Wellborn, FL, USA)
I was admitted to a hospital December 2003 with a bad cold, or so we thought. They were not sure what was wrong.
I was placed in a room and had a lady with me. I talked to her for a while and that's the last thing I remember for two months.
When I woke up in a different hospital they told me I had gotten a staph infection in the emergency room at the other hospital.
I had been kept on life support and lots of morphine. No one really cared except my boyfriend and my daughter.
My boyfriend got a paper from the court to have me moved to a trauma center. They told me I would have died in the other hospital because of the morphine and the wrong settings on the machines.
I had a tracheotomy. I thank God my throat started to heal but they had done too much damage to my lungs by then.
I need a lung transplant but they say you're lucky if you make it a year doing that. I am getting weaker.
I can't vacuum anymore. I get scared to go to sleep at night because it's so hard to breath. I have no one to help me. I have no money to pay someone to come in.
If it wasn't for my boyfriend I wouldn't even have a place to live because I can't work. I can barely do anything anymore.
My mother passed away a little over a year ago and I couldn't even go to her funeral.
I tried to get a lawyer to sue this hospital but the lawyers said you couldn't prove it, even though I have all my medical records and it states in them that I got this infection in their emergency room.
I don't have a picture to upload. No one would really want to see me anyway. I am 62 and I look like 80.
Before this happened I did everything: walking, horseback riding, you name it I did it. Now I can barely walk across the room.
I really could use some help. The roof is leaking and the floors need cleaning. I have no one to help get me in and out of the bath.
I am on 6 liters of oxygen so I don't do a lot.
