Government Housing Grant For Polio And Arthritis Disabled Woman To Save Home
by Susan Hale
(Independence, MO, USA)
I am a 58-year-old mother disabled by polio and now arthritis. I walk with leg braces and crutches. I have been married for 35 years.
I'm looking for a government housing grant or any type of assistance that would help me save my home.
As a child I spent a lot of time at Children's Mercy hospital where I had many surgeries for the polio.
The polio and the surgeries ultimately led to degenerative arthritis.
I lost my job in April 2011, and my arthritis prevents me from working any further.
My unemployment is ready to run out. I do not want to lose my house and have to move out. It is perfect for me and it's all I have left.
I have applied for social security disability and now I can only wait. But I cannot pay my bills or keep my house by just waiting.
My credit is not that good. I need help just to survive. I can no longer work.
I am on Lisinopril, Celexa and Arthrotec. I am finding it harder and harder to get around.
I have applied for Social Security Disability. I have been to their doctor. I'm just waiting for an answer.
My husband is a courier and his business is slowing down. He pays for what he can and that's just to try to keep us ahead.
But we are just not making it. I have applied for Medicaid and Food Stamps. But that takes time also.
I am looking just for some help to pay bills. My dream is to pay my house off. That is the most important help I would like.
My husband's health is not good but he continues to work. I just can't seem to get ahead.
Our mortgage company does not seem to want to help. Help me stay in my house. That is the most important thing.
A government housing grant or any type of assistance would be so appreciated.
