Father Of Quadriplegic Son Seeks Government Housing Grant Money

by Michael Parrella
(Providence, RI, USA)

I lost my home in May of 2008 due to work. I have three sons. My oldest is Mikey. He is a quadriplegic, 14 years old, with severe brain injury. He does not work or talk. He eats from a tube in his stomach.

I have been back to work almost a year now. I am a union laborer. I have been in the union 5 years.

I have been renting an apartment over a year now for $1300 a month and I have all my money orders and receipts to prove it.

I need to know if there any way of helping my family and me purchase a home. We had a bankruptcy in May of 2008.

About 20 months ago my poor wife has to carry him down a flight of stairs and then put him in his wheel chair. He almost weighs more than her.

Is there any kind of grant that I can apply for? I need a one-level home with no stairs like the house I lost.

I am making $1000 a week now. I really need a home. If you can help, please comment here.

Dear Sir,

Have you and your wife contacted Habitat for Humanity?? I strongly suggest that you do this. I am glad that you are now employed and making decent money. Do you and your wife get a disability check for your son??? Also, are you getting nurses to help with his care through Medicaid??? God Bless and good luck!!!
