Disabled Veteran Seeks Government Grant Money For Landscaping Business

by Rick Crouch
(Griffin, Georgia, USA )

A five-ton truck hit me in 1985 in Europe. My right hand was badly damaged in the incident. I have tried to work for other people but I have PTSD and depression because of this.

All I want to is start my on landscaping company so I can be outside and make a living for my family. I know I can do this at my own pace.

I just don't want to depend on someone who will say, "you can't write so we are letting you go." Or "You have too many VA appointments this month; sorry we have to let you go."

Congratulations on making the effort to submit your story to Accessible.org.

With the publication of your story, you are now well on your way to:

1. Getting your story known to a wide audience that could help you.

2. Getting your story polished up and presentable so you can submit it elsewhere, including the White House.

As a disabled person myself, I can sympathize with your situation and I definitely understand your need for help.

I've done a bit of research and found these resources for you:

Consumer Credit Counselors
http://www.accessible.org/consumer-credit-counselors.html

Education/GI Bill
http://www.gibill.va.gov/

Center for Veterans Enterprise
http://www.vetbiz.gov/default2.htm

State Veterans Affairs Offices
http://www.va.gov/statedva.htm

Others reading your story may be able to contribute more.

In any case, please let us know if they've been helpful to you.

Good luck!
