Disabled Texas Artist Seeks Government Grant For Non-Profit Art Legacy

by Natalie
(New Braunfels, TX, USA)

Mother and Child

Mother and Child

Greetings! Allow me to introduce myself. From 1990-1994, I earned my tuition through Grants and Fellowships while in college. I earned a B.F.A. degree in Studio Art in May of 1994 with emphasis in Sculpture and Figure Drawing from TX State University.

I am a hard worker, well organized as well as thorough. I was even the Head Lab Assistant for the beginning sculpture classes. I believe in being a team player, and that I would qualify for benefits/assistance for several reasons.

My future husband obtained an eye injury due to a work-related situation and we are pending litigation since June 2009. Tim has been unemployed since then and my mother has temporary custody of my only son, Nicholas Constantine Guzik and has had this status since my hospitalization and release in August 2006.

The primary reason for this transition was because in June 2006 I was seeking medical care and did not want CPS to step in. My mother, her husband and I are joint-managing conservators for Nicholas and the money would help me to support his well-being.

I am a devoted single parent currently receiving SSDI. I hope to gain assistance to pay off my $25,000 in credit card debit and/or to assist me in initiating an AIPP (Art In Public Places) Program for the surrounding cities of New Braunfels, Texas not excluding submissions from Austin and San Antonio.

Please visit my website to see my previous works, recent works and future conceptions at http://gnatsspaces.spaces.live.com or even take my survey as the input is greatly appreciated. I am an idea person.

I am also a child advocate and hope to bridge the culture gap by attracting tourism to the city of New Braunfels, Texas through the development of an AIPP Program.

Once I receive funding I will establish my business with United Pathos as the name, and with proceeds to benefit this non-profit organization.

My sister earned her PhD in Psychology and is familiar with the grant process. Her knowledge of grant writing will come in handy if I am considered a likely candidate.

One of my favorite pieces was entitled, "The Family of Man" photography installation by Eduard Steichen in 1969 at a New York gallery. Also, Robert Smithson's "Spiral Jetty" is another favorite work, one in constant flux or progress.

Art speaks for itself. I hope to bring integrity, the creative impulse and foster healing through the Visual and Performing Arts to the New Braunfels area and surrounding communities.

I will create a legacy that my family can be proud of. I hope to make the world a better place. Sincerely, Natalie Guzik.

Possible help

Have you tried contacting the F7 group located in Dallas? They work primarily with female veterans, as well as women who's husbands who have sustained war related injuries. I am not sure as to what specific resources they can provide, but I am sure they will be able to locate the appropriate assistance if need be. Hope this helps.
