Disabled Single Parent Of Two Children With Disabilities Seeks Relocation Grant

by Wendy
(Washington State, USA)

My name is Wendy. I am 35 years old and I have two children, 5 and 15 years old. I'm looking for a government grant to help us relocate to a better life in Florida.

I have arthritis all down my back, my neck, my hips and my hands. My whole left of my body becomes numb throughout the day then goes away and comes back again. All my doctors do is continue to prescribe medications, which are not working.

My daughter has IBD (irritable bowl disease), which cause severe pain in her stomach, and she has to take medication as well as I do.

I cannot work because of my disabilities; she cannot work because of her age and because of disabilities. She always says she wants to work, but cannot.

We used to have a nice house and we were all in a comfortable situation. But we lost everything, and soon became homeless for a while, living in our car.

After searching forever to find a place we finally found one. But it is in a very bad place.

People do drugs, pot and alcohol here. Abuse and neglect also live here.

The place is terribly damaged, meaning anyone could fall through the floor at any time. I have a wall and door that needs to be fixed because anyone could just walk right in if they pleased, but the managers refuse to fix anything.

The owner of the place is a cop and knows about everything that happens here but does not care.

We have been looking for grants to help relocate to a safer place, but are not having much of any luck at all.

We have family and friends that live in Florida (which is where we plan to move when we can get a relocation grant) who are willing to help in any way possible that they can.

We already found a place, well actually many places that we could move into. We just need the relocation grant to help get our stuff and us over there safely.

Florida has great schools, as well as hospitals for my children and myself. We have a bunch of family and friends who currently live there.

All my kids and I live off of is welfare, which barely covers the cost of living and living expenses.

If I could get this relocation grant and get us there, I would start my college online that I was planning to do, then become a student, and pretty soon get a job.

I just really need help relocating there. So if anyone could possibly help by directing us to a government or other program, I would appreciate that my whole life.

Thank you so much!

Your Current Living Situation

I would recommend that you call the Department of Health concerning your current living situation. Perhaps by doing so, maybe it will open other doors. Best of luck to you and stay positive.
