Disabled Senior Couple Seeks Government Grant For Home Repairs

by Dallas
(Rayne, Louisiana, USA)

My name is Dallas. I'm a 76-year-old senior citizen married to Mildred, 73.

I worked hard all my life and find that we cannot keep up with the repairs on our house because of our fixed income and illness.

I can no longer walk and am a diabetic. My wife is also a diabetic with blood pressure problems.

We are writing to ask for help in repairing our home. The repairs needed include leveling, cabinet repairs in the kitchen, and ceiling tile damage in four rooms because of stormy weather.

Our den has a wall that is falling apart from rot and mold caused by rain. The cost of these small repairs was estimated to be $25,000 to $30,000.

We would be grateful and feel safer in our home for the remainder of our lives if someone would help.
