Disabled Mother Seeks Government Education Grant Or Loan Cosign For Son

by Brenda Gilreath
(Charleston, SC, USA)

It's impossible. My son wants to go to the Art Institute Of Charleston. The tuition is $31,000. He got $15,000 from Federal Aid and still needs $16,000.

We tried getting a student loan, but need a cosigner. I'm on SS disability and I got denied everywhere I tried. I have no one else to cosign for him.

What do I do? My son wants to go to this school. Is there anywhere I can go for a loan where he doesn't need a cosigner? Is there a grant that could cover it?

I am very happy he wants to further his education. He's getting discouraged that he can't get the money and I'm telling him have hope because something will come, but I don't see anything. I need help.
