Disabled Mother Of Four Seeks Grant Money For Power Wheelchair

by Mandy
(Cullowhee, NC, USA)

My name is Mandy. I'm a mother of four kids, aged four and under. I'm disabled and I need a power wheelchair.

I was diagnosed on December 28th with a blood clot in my lung, which makes it hard to breath when I am up and moving around so I have to rest a lot.

On Thursday January 28th one month later my orthopedic doctor told me I have severely damaged the ligaments and tendons in my left hip, which makes it painful to walk.

My husband makes so little now at his job. I collect the rent money for my landlord in exchange for my rent so that I can keep a roof over our head.

With the blood clot and my hip problem, it makes it impossible for me to get around my 94-trailer mobile home park. I have a really hard time playing with my kids, too.

But one is my livelihood and the other is my life, so if anyone can help me get a power chair so I can have my mobility back please help. We are desperate.
