Disabled Mother Looking For Business Grant For Accessible RV Campground

by April Ballew
(Lafayette, Georgia, USA)

My name is April Ballew. I am 33 years old. I am married and I have three boys. My dream is to get a government business grant to open an accessible RV campground.

My family and I love to camp, especially in Pigeon Forge, TN. We have been camping for the past 14 years and have always wanted to open our own RV Park/Campground.

We were looking into buying or building our own, when I had to have heart surgery. I had to have my second heart surgery in my early twenties. I had my first when I was four.

Then in my early thirties I found out I had breast cancer. I had a total mastectomy and over a years worth of reconstruction. I also had numerous other procedures. Through everything I am still married to the same wonderful man.

The doctor bills killed any hopes of our own RV Park. Through everything we have always been camping. Camping always makes me feel better.

We feel there should be a park that everybody can enjoy and afford. Some parks tend to be a little expensive. We would like to own one close to Pigeon Forge, TN.

We would like to have about 50 spaces. The spaces need to be spaced out, not crammed together. People like a little space.

Each spot would have a picnic table, a fire ring, and a lantern pole. There would be back-in spots, pull-through spots, and tent spots.

Tent spots would have electricity and water and the rest of the spots would have full hook ups.

All campers and RVs would be welcomed as long as the equipment is maintained.

We would also like to have about 6-8 camping cabins to rent out. Cabins wouldn't have kitchens, but would have 1/2 bath.

The campground would have a hot tub, fully accessible bathhouse, a laundry room, and a game room. Campers need a pool with a kiddy mushroom.

I have struggled most of my life with health problem. I have a lot more health problems I am bipolar, and I have fibromyalgia and other ailments. Please help me see my dream and enjoy life for a while.
