Disabled Michael Seeks Government Grant To Avoid Homelessness
by Michael Arreaga

I have not been able to work now for almost two years. I have been suffering from Angina/Heart Arrhythmia, and severe osteoarthritis in my hips and lower spine.
I am in desperate need of hip replacement surgery for the hip joint on my right side. I have tried to work on the side as much as possible.
Now I have trouble standing, walking, and sitting, for very short periods of time. It causes me unimaginable pain. I have almost given up several times.
I have gone through all of my savings and any other source of money that I had trying to survive. I am now renting a room in a horrible house full of drug addicts and alcoholics who verbally and physically abuse me on a daily basis.
They steal my personal belongings and pain medication constantly. I cannot afford to move or live anywhere else right now. I am behind on my rent and am in danger of losing my room and being homeless.
I am not strong enough physically to handle being homeless right now. It is very hard for me to even dress, bath, and take care of myself.
I have worked all of my life and do not deserve to be treated like this. I am waiting for S.S.I. and have been for almost a year now and I am afraid I will not make it waiting for benefits.
If there is some place or someone who can help me I would be so very grateful. Sincerely, Michael Anthony Arreaga.
