Disabled Michael And Marcy Seek Government Grant To Fix Up Mobile Home

We got married in 1996. Michael had rheumatoid arthritis, and degenerative disc disease at that time.
Since then, he had a heart attack, which left him with a left ventricular aneurysm, congestive heart failure, and atrial fibrillation. I was an ER nurse, and took care of him.
I developed Weber-Christian disease. I worked as long as I could, but now I can no longer work either. In 2007, our income went from my nursing income to just his social security disability.
Obviously, we could no longer cover our overhead. We lost our home, and moved into a 27-foot RV trailer we had bought for our eventual retirement to travel. We didn't realize it would become our main residence.
We spent a year moving from parking lot to parking lot, in three-digit heat, unwelcome everywhere while Michael applied for VA benefits he had from being a Vietnam vet. I applied for social security disability.
Finally, we could afford to move our RV into a trailer park that accepted dogs (We had this dog for five years before we lost our home. She is part of our family.)
Then we found an opportunity to move into a doublewide mobile home in this trailer park. We could afford it because it is in great need of fixing.
It needs to be leveled, as there is a gap developing in the center, the kitchen sink has a hole in it and there is no hot water or drainage. The water supply is a hose instead of PVC pipe. The floors are mostly just plywood. The electrical system doesn't work on half of the house. The roof leaks. There are windows missing. It goes on and on.
A government grant would allow us to fix this house so we can have a home again, after two years of having nowhere to belong. Michael and Marcy Rampani.
