Disabled Marine Corps Veteran Medically Discharged Seeks Debt Relief
by Alexander
(Florida, USA)
I did three and a half years in JROTC in high school preparing for my career in the Marine Corps.
After being in the Corps for only a short time, I developed osteoarthritis in my hip and the Marine Corps medically discharged me.
My severance pay was about $9,000, which covered one loan I had at my time of release.
I now have bills I'm struggling to pay. My VA claim started in December 2009, but it has not yet started to pay as of the present day (05/14/2010).
I work three jobs and find any other ways to make money and still can't pay all my bills.
I'm a disabled veteran. I work harder then the average American on a daily basis. My career was tarnished, and now the loans, credit cards and debt I had with it still carried over.
I don't ever reach out and ask for money. But any penny would help. I am still what a lot would consider young and I'm watching my credit deteriorate.
Thanks for listening and for pointing me to any sources of government grants or other such help.
