Disabled Joshua Seeks Government Grant For Housing And Schooling
by Joshua Fields
(Indianapolis, Indiana, USA)
My name is Joshua. I'm a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. I am a 30-year-old male living at home in Indianapolis, Indiana. I am looking for a money grant to help me buy a home as well as to pay for schooling.
I was diagnosed in 2001 with paranoid schizophrenia at the age of 21. I was working full time as a grocer and I suffered a nervous breakdown as well as suffering from deep depression.
I was hospitalized a total of four times. The first time I had tried to commit suicide, thinking to myself life just couldn't seem better than what I was going through at the time.
After the fourth time I was hospitalized I was court appointed to live in a group home for the mentally Ill for a year. I lived in the group home for four years and recently two years ago was released from group home life.
I am now 30 years old, living at home and looking for possible assistance to buy a home for myself as well as my mother and to pay for schooling for myself.
It is a dream of mine to go to college and earn a degree in writing as well as ancient history. When I was 16 years of age I had quit high school because of my paranoid schizophrenia but it went undiagnosed until 2001.
Recently I have taking steps to finish my education by enrolling in an online high school program where I can receive my high school diploma.
After I receive my high school diploma it is a dream of mine to attend college and receive a degree in creative writing. Maybe it would help me to accomplish a goal of mine on becoming an author since I love to write short stories.
I suffer from schizophrenia and depression every day and most times it prevents me from meeting new people and accomplishing personal goals of mine. I would love to experience life through new eyes and enjoy life to the fullest.
I would love to receive a grant for myself so I can have a place of my own and work on getting a degree for myself. Thank you for your time.
