Disabled Florida Man Seeks Government Disability Grant For Son And Self

by Shelly Thomas
(St. Augustine, Florida, USA)

I am a disabled man living in Saint Augustine, Florida. I have been disabled since August 1, 1998.

I live on Social Security Disability. It took me two years to get it. I am very thankful for it but it just doesn't seem to go as far as it used to.

Each year I seem to fall further behind in my bills.

I was burned very badly in a car wreck and have had over 26 plastic surgeries to repair my face and body.

I was 38 when all this happened. I'm now 50 and wondering what the future holds for my son and me. I'm trying to make a better life for us.

We live in a 1986 single-width mobile home. The floors are bad and the roof leaks.

I'm trying to get a grant to pay off all my debt to start fresh and make a better home for my son. Thank you.
