Disabled Emotionally Abused Mother Of Six Seeks Grant To Stay Above Water

(Englewood, New Jersey, USA)
My name is Veronica Saravia and I am a 42-year-old married mother of six children, five still under the age of 18.
I am disabled and have been for more than 15 years of my life. I write this story to be heard for assistance for I am just tired of struggling to keep our heads (my children and me) above water.
I have been homeless three times in my lifespan, not for the doing of my own. Two of my children were lead poisoned and I had to move out of the slum apartment where we had been living. The other was when I was forced out by the owner who wanted to sell the home we were renting.
The government never allows enough time for a low-income family to find housing appropriate and the size of my family just made it more intense.
I moved to the state of New Jersey eight years ago with my Section 8 subsidy acceptance voucher and moved twice since I have lived here as well. I am now in the last home that I presently rent for six years.
In October of 2009, I found out the owner was not paying the rent and the house will be going into foreclosure soon. I was given the option to purchase the home with the Section 8 voucher, but I do not have the money for the down payment or closing costs.
Being disabled I am on a tight budget, but why should that prevent me from owning my own home and a safe environment for my children and me?
I am also doing online schooling at home, which is a college course for business administration so I need to pay back the government loan that I have received for that as well.
Finance is not easy when you do not have money to spare on anything but the necessities. My children want to do things like afterschool activities and I cannot afford that.
I feel so bad being a poor mom with interactive children so I am looking for all the help possible to make some of our dreams come true. I would love to look back on my accomplishments made when help arrived when I needed it.
To purchase this home will cost me $249,000. To finish school and pay the loan back will cost me $32,000. To start my own home business will cost me $25,000 and where there is a will there will have to be a way.
