Disabled Caregiver Daughter Seeks Housing Grant Money For Disabled Mom

by Cindy
(Henderson, Nevada, USA)

I am a disabled caregiver of my disabled mom, who is 82 years old. She has massive arthritis and two total hip replacements.

She has lived in housing authority for 17 years, and I have been living with her (I am not on the lease) for 6 years.

They knew from the start that I was here. Now they want to evict me immediately due to many reasons and problems, none I have caused.

I am a domestic violence victim, and also my bipolar sister has caused many police visits to her residence, banging on windows, etc.

She was the one who broke my mom's hip in the first place, and my family asked me to quit my job and my apartment to care for her.

I have been here ever since, with no help from any member of my family or from the government, except food stamps.

This is a dangerous neighborhood and neighbors and hoods living here have harassed me so badly I can't even walk down the street.

My car was towed by police, and lost by police believe it or not, and my family would not help me get it out of tow by the time the police did locate my car in the tow yard.

Also now my teeth are rotted so bad on the bottom I can hardly even talk. I have a liver disease and back problems.

I am scared to be inside her house due to the threats by management and police, and I can't go outside due to threats by gangs.

I am trapped in the house and do not know what to do... I am on the verge of being homeless. No one cares.

My sister is bipolar, in the hospital, and also ready to be homeless. Her boyfriend died two weeks ago from a heart attack and they removed her.

Now the cops are saying that we were conspiring to steal a dead man's property when we took out her clothes.

They're saying also my mom had stolen property in her HUD home of 17 years. What can we do?

On Easter Sunday they did this and have also entered her home without permission many times, for no reason, at night while we were sleeping.

They are harassing us constantly. We can't even open the front door for air. It is a nightmare and if you ask me it is elder abuse done by the cops and manager.

They are harassing me the caregiver and daughter, causing her stress and me also.

Where will we go and if I am thrown out or arrested she will be taken by the state. Any ideas?

We have done nothing wrong and we barely ever go outside. We watch movies, cook and listen to the Bee Gees and Frank Sinatra. We cause no problems whatsoever.

What kind of constitutional rights are they breaking? All of them? Help us!!!
