Disability Grant And SSDI Appeal For Accident Disabled 42 Year Old Father
by Darrin
(Perris, California, USA)
My name is Darrin. I'm 42 years old with a wife and a nearly 4-year-old son named Johnathan.
We are a very close-knit family with a lot of positive attitude. So we're confident we'll get some help with our SSDI appeal
My disability began on June 9, 2010 when picking up some heavy material at work. I herniated three discs in my back, acquired two inguinal hernias and derangement of my right knee.
Just after my injuries my employer laid me off work instead of taking me to the doctor.
Then I hired a lawyer to file suit so I could get fixed.
I got denied Workers Compensation and now my California State Disability has run out and I'm on my first Appeal with Social Security Disability
With no money coming in the bills are starting to pile up and we're to the point of selling what little we do have to attempt to keep the utilities on.
I'm constantly on pain medication and muscle relaxers which make it very hard to do anything.
My wife is desperately trying to find employment, but being a homemaker and mother is all she has done for the past five years so, no recent work history.
We have not been able to acquire any money since the second week in august and now our bank accounts are almost completely empty.
I'm not allowed to work because of my injuries, but my wife has been and is seeking employment to no avail.
I've applied, been denied and am appealing SSDI. SDI was denied at the time I applied because I hadn't received the notice of exhaustion from State Disability.
I received and gave it to Social Security two months ago and have not received a reply.
I'm looking to resolve the problems with SSDI and SSI along with exploring the possibility of a grant to help keep the lights on and food on the table while we are going through this temporary financial lull.
