Daughter Seeks Government Grant Money For Cancer Stricken Mother

by Vickie Morton
(Shady Spring, West Virginia, USA)

I'm Vickie Morton. My mother's name is Doris Kerr. We lost our dad James Kerr 10 years ago to cancer. It happened so fast it's like a dream.

My brother went to prison for 10 years just a few months after we put our dad in the ground. Mom was very sick then with a very serious case of PHD.

They said she wouldn't see her 67th birthday but she did. With all her problems, she tried to raise two of my brother's kids, which made her life hell and still do.

She tried to help my sister and her three kids and they still live with her, but the oldest has been sent off. She made everyone's life a nightmare.

Mom had to go on Triclear, which was $5000, but after a fight she had to copay $50.

This may not seem like a lot to some people but when you are trying to take care of a home, pay bills, meds copays, and doctors, an care for 6 to 8 other people, it's more than a lot.

Well, a little over two weeks ago or so mom was getting sicker and sicker and losing salt from her body.

After 13 days in the hospital, we were told she had cancer and that it has spread throughout her body. She's very sick.

My husband and I begged and borrowed and finally got her a ramp built. She has a sister here that has the money to help but all she wants is a ring.

My sister is taking care of mom the best she can and we go and do what we can. I have a bad heart and my days are numbered too.

All we need is a tub to get mom in it with her wheelchair. I know she would love that. We don't know if God's going to let her stay or he's going to take her home.

We will find a door somewhere. Her sink doesn't work, and half of her electricity doesn't either. Please help us fix her a tub.

We do the best we can. She can't herself. All she has is her pride. Thank you! Vickie Morton.
