Business Expansion Grant For Navy Veteran To Sell More Sauce
by Brian
(Linden, Michigan, USA)
I am a 49-year-old Navy veteran, divorced with no kids. I received an honorable discharge from the Navy in 1988.
I started my hot sauce business in 2010. It's slowly building especially in this economy.
I am not officially disabled yet. I do have three types of arthritis one of which one is rare and I will become disabled as time goes on.
In addition to the arthritis, I also have high blood pressure along with high cholesterol.
It is harder now doing a normal job but I continue to do so.
I am on prescriptions medications for all. That is why I wanted to start a business so I could take care of myself as time goes on.
I have only been able to get a part-time night job after losing my full-time day job.
I do not get SSI or any other assistance. I only get my part-time income and a little from my business.
I am looking for a grant to expand my business. Right now I only have a hot sauce seasoning in my line.
I would like to have a BBQ sauce and other sauces in my line and also expand my hot sauce.
I have my hot sauce in 42 stores in Michigan, three in Virginia, three in California and one in NY.
I have only been open since June of 2010 so I think I am doing well. But would like to do better!
