Brain Disabled Jonathan Seeks Grant Money For Independent Living

by Jonathan Farley
(Southwest Harbor, Maine, USA)

My name is Jonathan and I am 20 years old. I was born with epilepsy. At age 3, I received a frontal lobe brain injury as the result of an accident.

I am writing for a grant because I need help to become independent. I cannot live on my own. My brain injury has left me unable to know when I am hungry sometimes and I can barely read and write. I am dictating this to my Mother.

If I could get help from a grant I could find a used mobile home to put on my mother's property and I could be on my own and learn life skills and still be close so my Mother could watch out for me.

I would also like to start my own business. I hand carve blocks and print my own cards. I would like to make this a business so that someday I can be financially independent and not rely on SSI to survive. A grant would greatly improve my life and allow me to be independent.

Thank you for reading my story. Jonathan Farley, Southwest Harbor, Maine.
