Blind Disabled Single Mom Seeks Grant Money To Supplement Social Security Disability

by Sherrie L. Bishop
(Louisville, KY, USA)

I am a single female who is the mother of two girls ages 23 and 16. I have two sisters, a brother, and mother.

I have been legally blind for 11 years. I also just had a kidney transplant afte three years of dialysis. But I am considered to be permanently disabled.

My financial hardship is that I'm on fixed income social security disability and it is hard trying to manage getting income once a month. After I pay my rent, utilites, buy groceries there is hardly anything left over to provide extras for my 16 year old and myself.

At this time I have no attempts at earning income because I am recuperating from kidney transplant surgery last month.

I am looking for a grant to help me get over the hump, and provide some extras for my daughter who is getting ready to be a sophmore in high school. she will be needing class ring, prom dress ,etc.
