Bipolar Disabled Tonya With Two Disabled Girls Seeks Accessible Grant Money

by Tonya
(Strunk, KY, USA)

My name is Tonya Bass and I am 31 years old. I am married and have two disabled children.

My husband was in the Army. He is currently a plumber but work is slow and most weeks he has no job to do.

There are times he has to stay home to help me with the kids.

My oldest daughter was diagnosed at birth with Noonan Syndrome.

My youngest daughter has just been diagnosed with CP because they don't know what is wrong with her, even though she has had over 120 tests done.

She is 5, walks on her tiptoes, can't talk, has seizures and is tagged as a death risk because of her asthma.

I have anxiety, insomnia, PTSD, asthma and manic depression. I also was in a car wreck 7 years ago and have slipped disks in my neck, middle and lower back.

I have subluxations in my lower back where my spine shifts from my lower body. My condition has got worse due to lifting my youngest daughter.

Currently we have just one vehicle and have had to miss appointments.

My husband is a plumber but there are weeks he doesn't get to work.

There are times we need to get to appointments but we are usually behind on a few bills so he has to go.

My youngest child will be getting a wheelchair in order to start school.

Currently I am not working because of 2 reasons, my health and I have to be home with my youngest due to her condition.

Both my kids do get SSI so usually that is all the income we have for the month. We do get $240 in food stamps. It helps but sometimes we still have to get food from my parents.

I need a 4-door car simply because I cannot lift my daughter to put her in the car seat if it is only a 2-door.

Also, that way I wouldn't have to re-schedule appointments.

My mobile home isn't wheelchair accessible. We also need to remodel so that it will be easier to bathe her.

We do need help with our bills. We are so far behind right now. We almost lost our place due to money troubles.
