Bipolar Disabled Mother Of Five Kids Seeks Money Help To Make Ends Meet

by Elicia Rivera
(Gainesville, GA, USA)

I am 27 years old. I am married and we have five children.

I have Lupus SLE, bipolar disorder, fibromyalgia, small fiber neuropathy, adrenal insufficiency and mitochondrial disease.

Three of our five children have mitochondrial disease. Two are also autistic and two also have seizures.

We are behind on rent by 2 months and will end up homeless if we get no help paying it. Please help us.

Lupus SLE is an autoimmune disease that causes multi-organ involvement. My fibromyalgia causes widespread pain, as does the small fiber neuropathy.

The bipolar disorder causes me to be unreliable and affects my ability to concentrate as well as socially interact.

The mitochondrial disease that our three children and I have causes widespread muscle and nerve and organ failure.

With the economy, times are hard enough, but add to it four disabled people in one home and it multiplies the hardship.

My husband went to school to obtain his CDL and that took away money he would have possibly made working.

He now has his CDL but we are having trouble catching up our rent. If it is not caught up we will be homeless.

I receive SSI in the amount of $1348 a month.

My husband has secured a job offer but is scheduled to start training in a week until training is over he will not be making money.

Hi Elicia,

Don't give up hope. Everyone knows about the tough times and most people that are owed money realize that you can't get blood from a stone. Your husband will be working soon. Just tell the creditors that and make a future payment arrangement. Really, what else can they do right now? Try not to stress too much about it. Things sound like they are going to be better now, especially since your husband took the courage and went back to school. Good for him!

Take care,
Ken
