58 Year Old Disabled Vietnam Veteran Seeks Relief For Medical Expenses

My name is George. I'm a 58-year-old veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.

I'm the proud father of two wonderful sons and six grandchildren. I live alone with no family close.

In January of 2008, I suffered a major heart attack. The doctors had to replace a heart valve. After a bit of recovery, I was able to return to work.

Then in March of 2010, I suffered a second heart attack, this one requiring the implant of a pacemaker.

While I was recovering in the hospital, the company I was working for notified me that it was sold and I no longer had a job or insurance.

While recovering at home, I was run over in a hit-and-run accident.

As a result of these events, I've had to learn to walk again (which is hard and still painful) and lost all feelings in my fingertips.

I have lower back pain, but with no insurance, I can't afford medical help.

As I can no longer work, I'm in fear of losing my home. I can't afford the medical attention I need. I worry about not seeing my cardiologist like I should.

I'm barely able to afford my medications. I could use some equipment so I can get in and out of the bathtub. I have to wait for a friend to help bathe, for fear of falling.

I just started disability but it's not nearly enough. I'm trying to get some help from the local churches. The Salvation Army has helped some.

I'm hoping if I learn some skill I can earn some income, but that's hard not walking or able to sit for long.

I'm looking for a grant or benefits that can help me save my home and get the medical attention I need.

Can someone please show me what I need to do to help learn how to solve this situation?
