48-Year-Old Disabled Mother Seeks Grant Money For Land And Home

by Geraldine Moore
(Tomahawk, Wisconsin, USA)

I am a 48-year-old disabled mother of two minor children and two adult children that live with my husband and me in a three-bedroom mobile home.

I became disabled two years ago and am receiving Social Security Disability. I need to find property to put my mobile home on so I can build on to it.

We live in a mobile home park that does not allow you to build on. I would love to be able to buy a country home with a house on it and maybe let my adult children live in the mobile home.

I worked the majority of my life and when I was told I couldn't work it was very hard not being able to provide for my family.

No one else is working. It's not that they don't try to find jobs. They go out everyday and apply.

I live on $1200 a month with six people in my home. After bills, there isn't much left. The kids have been going without for along time now.

I can't afford to buy them clothes for school. I just want land to call my own and let them have the things they need, which is room to move around and be able to play outside and put tents up and not get yelled at for it for the park manager.

The kids are miserable living here and so am I. So if anyone can help us I would be so grateful. Thank you. Geraldine Moore.
