45 Year Old Bipolar Disabled Woman Seeks Debt Relief And Educational Grants

I'm a 45-year-old woman with bipolar II. I'm looking for debt relief and educational grants to help me improve my life and make a positive contribution to society.

I have suffered from depression most of my life. I had a nervous breakdown while attending college when I was only 17 years old.

I grew up in a verbally abusive family environment and used playing sports as an outlet.

I was a probation officer in New York City for about 11 years up until 9/11. I worked at the control center next to the morgue during this horrible period and in January of 2002 I had a heart attack.

I was also diagnosed with having extensive sarcoidosis. Due to my failing health I decided to move back home to Denver Colorado to attend National Jewish Hospital for help as well as be with my family for support.

Starting in 2002 my depression seemed to get worse. I lost four jobs in four years and I was finally accepted into a mental health program because several of the medications that I tried did not seem to work for me.

I was finally properly diagnosed as being bipolar in 2007 and placed on the proper medications for the first time in my life. I have a counselor and psychiatrist that I see on a regular basis.

I survive on limited funds that I receive from social security disability and I have a very hard time affording my medications, which can cost up to $600 per month not including help from Medicare.

I also am in debt for about $30,000 and I am having a very hard time paying any of this debt back with only SSDI.

I decided in 2007 to attend school for X-Ray technicians and had to drop out due to a mental relapse. I had to change my medications.

Now it's 2010 and I decided to give it another try. I want to live life and I feel that I am capable of having another career that is suitable to my needs.

I have been searching for government grants but I have not been able to find grants that fit my situation specifically. I am asking for your help with this process.

I'm searching for grants to help me complete my education, and continue attending my mental health center for treatment as well as aid in paying off my debts.

I just want a chance to contribute back to my community by working as an X-Ray technician in low income areas as well as have a chance at being happy with my life. I want to live a real life.
