42 Years Old And Wheelchair-Bound With Muscular Dystrophy

by Wenda Hines
(Chillicothe, OH, USA)

I'm 42 years old and wheelchair-bound with muscular dystrophy. I can't go anywhere without my chair, so I need financial assistance to get a wheelchair van.

But I can't afford one because I'm on a fixed income and the Muscular Dystrophy Association only helps getting a chair.

I can't go places like shopping or to the doctor by myself. I always have to depend on a transporter to take me to the doctors and I have to depend on other people to do my shopping for me.

My husband is also disabled and he doesn't drive. He does all the other work around the house for me like cleaning and cooking and he helps me get into bed and the shower.

So if you can help me out by getting me a van it would be so nice that way I can go places. Thank you and God bless you for any government or other financial assistance.

Plans we've paid for all our lives need to work for us.
by: Paul Galik

I had an uncle with muscular dystrophy and it took him a while to get his van, so hang in there. God will see you get what you need. Right now I'm paying $800 a month for one medicine. That takes all my check and I've been paying it for seven months now due to a gap period in Humana's plan. Now I find out I have to pay another $4000 because now I'm in a doughnut hole. These plans don't help that much. When I finish these payments what's next for me to pay? I put all my problems in God's hands and never lose faith and trust in him.
