40 Year Old Airborne Veteran Seeks Debt Relief From Mounting Medical Expenses

I'm a 40-year-old man with a wife and four kids. I was injured in may of 1992 while in airborne training, I suffer from a bad back pain, which has progressed to cause me to be unable to work any more.
I worked as a house painter for most of my life. I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for several different departments over a 28-year period. This was one thing I loved to do.
It was an honor to be able to help others in their times of emergencies. Now I can't help anymore due to my health getting worse. Over the past several years, my health has grown worse other than my back.
I suffer from high blood pressure, post-traumatic stress syndrome, diabetes, Chiari malformations, morbid obesity and major depression. I also had a belly bleed from the meds I was taking for my back over the years.
I'm now on a fixed income. My wife is unable to work. In October 2003, she was diagnosed with bone cancer. She's been in remission for five years now, but still has abnormal blood tests.
Her blood cells don't carry oxygen through her body, as it should, so it makes her unable to work. She gets out of breath just walking to the bathroom. She is constantly getting cramps and pain in her feet and legs.
In May of 2009 her Social Security was taken from her, and she was told she could go back to work. Since she lost her Social Security we are having a hard time paying the bills.
We were getting by until she lost her Social Security. It's hard for us to pay the loan on the house her mom and dad left her when they passed away in 2007.
I would love to be able to go back to work and firefighting, but that's not going to happen because of my health.
I hate asking for help but when I look at my family during the holiday season, having trouble getting Christmas for my kids, it's made me humble myself and try to get help any way I can find it.
Each day I get even more depressed. The only thing that keeps me going is my family and my faith in God.
I would like to pay off my debts, sell this house and buy my family a new house to start over. We don't even have any furniture in our living room.
The only reason to keep this house is because of my wife. She doesn't want to let it go because it was her mom and dad's house and they left it to her.
But it needs too much work for us to stay here and the utilities cost too much because it's an old house. It's all we have though.
I love the people that live around us, but this house also holds too many bad memories for me and I would like to find a new place to live due to this.
It was an honor to serve my country and community and help those in need. I hope you can find it in your heart to help my family and myself.
It sure would help my depression at least if you could help me get out of debt and not worrying about my bank account being overdrawn, or losing everything else we have.
I also am trying to get the gastric bypass done to help my health but I've been denied by VA in Cleveland even though I have all the approvals from Cincinnati VA.
Please help me. God bless and thank you and everyone that helps in this however it turns out.
