38 Year Old COPD Disabled Woman Seeks Government Transportation Grant

by Betty
(Wainwright, Alaska, USA)

I am a 38-year-old woman looking to apply for a grant to get some sort of transportation to get around.

I have Asthma/COPD, and it is getting harder for me to walk to the local store, because of the dusty gravel roads.

A car or truck, and maybe a small vacation to a warmer place for a while would be nice.

I live in a town of about 600 people. It's not a very big village, but with my breathing problems it's hard to get around without transportation.

I have applied for disability, but having to wait 5 to 6 months to see if I get approved is a long wait.

Why should people have to wait so long just to see if they get approved for disability or not. Is it that hard of a decision for them to make?

I am not just speaking for myself, but for others also who are disabled.

I mean what if some are very disabled and don't make it to 5 or 6 months to see if they do qualify? Then it will be too late for them.

So like I said, I am not just speaking for myself on waiting for disability. I also speak for all disabled people out there.

So here I am on this grant page seeing if I do qualify for a grant or not. Thank you for your time.
