27 Year Old Seizure Disabled Woman Seeks Debt Relief For Medical Expenses

by Jillian Sanchez
(Concord, NC, USA)

I had my first grand mal seizure in 2006 at 27 years old. I am now 30, and after $70,000 of medical bills and four years of doctors' appointments and medications and specialists, they still do not know what is causing them.

I have lost my driver's license several times, and had to quit two jobs. I do not qualify for disability apparently, and because of pre-existing conditions, my insurance has not covered my medications or tests, or doctors appointments.

My wages have been garnished for ambulance rides. Now I am being sent to Wake Forrest University to see an epilepsy specialist there in August, and that will cost $5,000 a day.

Stress adds to my lowered seizure threshold, and I know the added stress of knowing I will never be able to dig myself out this medical debt does not help.

I need a government grant to help me pay for all of this. I just want to get the help and resources I need to find out what is causing these seizures.

The doctors I see now have exhausted all their resources, and are afraid there may be something more complicated going on since the medication doesn't seem to be controlling them. Please help me.
