25 Year Old Woman Seeks Government Grant Money To Break Poverty Cycle

by Lisa
(Baytown, Texas, USA)

I am a 25-year-old female with no job and I have no way of getting one without transportation. Some government grant money would be such a help.

This is my problem in all aspects of my life right now. I want to go to school, but I can't because I have no transportation.

I can't keep any job I get because I simply have no one that can take me to work and usually the job is too far away to walk to.

I come from a family of four raised by a single mother. I am the oldest of three. My mother has no way of helping me and I have no other family that can.

Considering she can barely help herself, I don't even bother asking her. My mother has never owned her own car and has never made enough to support three children as well as purchase a car.

So as far as getting some kind of break there it never happened and to this day she still does not own a car.

I grew up poor, as poor as knocking on people's doors for food and going to bed at times hungry. I know none of my family; only my mother brother and sister are my family, so there is no help there either.

My point is I haven't ever given up hope that one day I might be the first in my very small family to actually make something of myself.

The one thought that has kept me from my wit's end is that there is always someone who has it worse than me out there.

I'm just someone that needs a little break to make all my dreams come true, amongst the millions of others that do too. I'm sure everyone has his or her story.

I just really have no one to turn to. This is really just an effort to try and get some kind of help.

A grant of any kind that can help me get a car could really make me feel my life isn't quite as doomed as I may think.

It would also make what I've endured in my what seems like a forever lifetime was worth my still being here.
