24-Year-Old Disabled Single Mom Seeks Government Housing Grant

by Deirdra Reeder
(Cave City, KY, USA)

I am 24 years old and am on disability for mental and emotional instability. I receive $674 every month to pay rent, electricity, water and food, for myself and my two kids.

My rent takes up most of my check and then my bills take the rest, leaving me to borrow money for diapers, wipes, baby medications, toddler medications, and clothes for them and under $50 for food for the rest of the month.

I am not certain you could help me. However, I do know from research that I could pay $100 less per month for a similar house if the payments went toward a mortgage instead of rent.

I am unsure if there's a grant to help a single mother to buy and furnish a house for herself and two children.

I am on now food stamps and WIC (Women, Infants and Children). Unfortunately they do not help that much and leave me with next to nothing for Christmas.

I do not have the arm and leg they seem to need, to spare. I would like to be able to provide my children with more then threadbare coats and shoes two sizes too big.

If there is a grant that could help me buy and furnish a house for my family, I would appreciate it if you could find it in your hearts to consider me.

Recheck facts first
by: Anonymous

I personally know this person, and there was nothing dishonest about her request. An out-of-the-country car request is ludicrous since she does not have a drivers license due to her disability. She is most definitely having a hard time. Please double check your facts before you accuse someone of being dishonest.

Doubtful...

We learned that Deirdra Reeder's story and intentions may be less than truthful. Thankfully we found out about this before we wired $3000 to her for an out-of-the-country car sale deal. Our prayers go out to her and her children that they may find God and seek his everlasting love and forgiveness.
