100 Percent Disabled Marine Seeks Grant Money For Infertility Treatments

by Eddie
(Lincoln, CA, USA)

I am a 26-year-old male. I was in the Marine Corps for over 4 years from 2003-2007.

I have been married for 6 years and have been trying to start a family for a year and a half now.

I deployed to Iraq 3 times in 4 years. During my first deployment to Iraq, I was hit in the neck with shrapnel from an RPG.

Thankfully, I survived that, but unfortunately, one of my comrades died.

After I was honorably discharged, I received a disability rating of 100 percent for PTSD, my neck and a few other things.

I struggle every day with anger problems and I get headaches and neck pain quite often.

About a year ago, I found out that I might never be able to father "my own" children.

For some reason, I have no sperm in my semen. That was definitely a shock. My wife and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year.

Since we found out about my infertility, we have spent thousands of dollars trying different treatments just to have one baby.

I never would have imagined that I would be in this predicament. It has been very emotionally draining, as well as financially draining.

Every month, we wonder if this time, it will work.

I have been looking for work and I tried going to school, but I just can't go to school anymore.

I thought maybe the VA would pay for fertility treatments, but they do not. That is so frustrating. I don't know why they don't have fertility coverage.

I am just looking for grants. I have not found any grants yet that help disabled veterans going through fertility issues.

Have you tried Ashwagandha? Maybe that will help your anxiety. Ashwagandha is an Indian herb.

Fertility Coverage through the VA
by: Anonymous

I read your whole entire story. It is very similar to mine. My husband came back from the war in Iraq and is also diagnosed with PTSD.

We have struggled with fertility for several years as well. I am just now finding out that the VA may cover you in a different state. Post here is you'd like more information.

I look forward to helping you with what I know.
